Zero-Tracking Guarantee: Screen Capture Suite operates on a 100% offline-first architecture. We do not collect, transmit, store remotely, or sell any captured screenshots or personal user data.

1. Information Handled by the Extension

All screenshot processing and canvas drawings take place locally on your computer:

  • Screenshot Captures: Full page, visible viewport, or user-selected areas are processed purely within Chrome's local memory and HTML5 Canvas API.
  • Annotations & Drawings: Shapes, arrows, freehand drawings, highlighters, and text overlays are drawn purely on your device.
  • Preferences: Image format (PNG/JPEG) and canvas tool defaults are saved on your local device via chrome.storage.local.

2. Data Storage & Security

  • Zero Remote Servers: Captured images never leave your local browser sandbox. They are not uploaded to any remote server or third-party cloud.
  • Direct Downloads: Clicking "Download" or "Copy" outputs the image directly to your local machine or system clipboard.
  • No Analytics or Ads: Contains zero third-party telemetry beacons, trackers, or advertising scripts.

3. Permissions Requested & Purpose

  • activeTab: Strictly captures the visible content of the active tab only when you explicitly trigger a screenshot.
  • storage: Stores local settings offline (export format and canvas tool settings).
  • scripting: Injects the scrolling script needed to stitch long pages into a full-page capture.
  • <all_urls>: Allows capturing across standard web pages requested by the user.
