Color sampling, font inspection, and asset extraction are handled locally:

  • Color Values & Palettes: Color hex codes, RGB, and HSL values sampled via the Chrome native EyeDropper API or extracted from page styling are held locally in your browser storage (chrome.storage.local).
  • Font & CSS Inspection: When live inspection mode is active, element font family, size, weight, and box metrics are read directly from the DOM using getComputedStyle. Inspected data is never sent across networks.
  • Asset Extraction: Images and vector SVGs extracted from the active page are read client-side to allow 1-click clipboard copy or direct preview.

2. Data Storage & Security

  • 100% Local Processing: All computations, color history lists, and format preferences stay inside your device's browser profile.

3. Permissions Requested & Purpose

  • activeTab: Interacts with the currently active page only when you open the popup or initiate font inspection.
  • storage: Saves your chosen color format (HEX, RGB, HSL) and stores recent color history locally.
  • clipboardWrite: Copies sampled color codes, CSS snippets, and SVG code to your clipboard upon clicking "Copy".
  • scripting: Injects the font inspector overlay and color palette scanner into the active webpage.
